Missouri - Part 2

Day 5

Our fifth day in Missouri we decided to go shopping again but this time at some of the Amish stores in the area. Before going to the store we decided to stop in town and check out a local gift shop where a little boy pointed and yelled "You're a princess" as I walked by, it was adorable to say the least. At the Amish grocery store we visited I picked up some loose leaf peppermint tea & the best cup of coffee I've ever had in my life! After that we visited an Amish quilt shop where I picked up some fat quarters of fabric for some DIY projects (coming soon!). That night we played basketball in the driveway, at one point our ball rolled into the yard across the street and when Jordan went to get it a toy poodle chased him all the way down the road. I nearly died laughing.

Day 6

The sixth day we decided to go down to another strip of shops (I wish I could remember these places names!) where I got a new pair of blue mocs (and fantasized about getting a tall brown pair), won a game of giant checkers & ate rock candy that turned my mouth blue almost instantly! We also stopped at Jordan's sister's place and then a thrift shop where I found a 60s shift dress & an awesome 70s maxi dress (both are in the shop)! That night I hung all my finds thus far on the clothes line & took photo's (note to self: get a clothesline, they rock.)

Tomorrow I'll be showing you what I did with one of those pieces of fabric!

Pretty packages

My shop has been doing well since I opened it on the 8th! I have sold two items and I have to say my favorite part of this whole process is wrapping the package to be shipped! It's so fulfilling to send it off wrapped up like a present to it's new home.

If you were to receive a package, how would you like it to be wrapped?

Missouri - Part 1

Two weeks ago (holy smokes has it been that long!?) I went on my first road trip ever! Me & Jordan packed our car with the essentials and drove down to Missouri to visit his family. I had such a fabulous time thrifting & snapping photo's I decided to write these posts to share them with you!

Day 1
Because it took us nearly 10 hours to drive down the whole first day was just that! I'm not gonna lie it was pretty rough and I was so tired by the time we got there, but the view during drive was actually very pretty and I had Jordan, instagram, & some good books to keep me company.

Day 2
The first full day we were down there we decided to check out the local thrifts & holy smokes it was fantastic! That first day I found two 1950's dresses, a baby dress, a toddler play suit, & a cool blue suitcase. The best place we went to that day was a store called Pack Rat's in Versailles. If you're ever in that area go check it out!

Day 3
The third day of my trip was Mother's day so we ended up spending the day relaxing with Jordan's mom. Although I didn't get to be with my Mom I was able to talk to her over Face time on my phone

Day 4
The fourth day we were there I got to raid Jordan's family garden! I picked a bowl of strawberries (that were quickly eaten) and played a board game with Jordan, his brother & his mom. There was a large field behind his house with tons of wild  flowers and I wish now that I would have picked some to press in a nice book. We ended that day with a walk through town. I loved the look of the town we were in.

Have you ever been on a road trip?

21 before 22

I'm a list person. I make lists for everything, if you were to go into my phone you would find lists entitled "supplies needed to wash vintage clothing" or "outfit inspiration" or my ever evolving new list "thing's to do for the shop"... But this list is an entirely new thing to me. It's 21 things I want to do before I turn 22, a bucket list for my 22nd birthday. It's taken me a while to write this list. In fact as I post it now I've already accomplished the first three things and started working on others!

1. Go on a road trip
2. Open a store
3. Learn how to knit
4. Do a week long green smoothie challenge
5. Write in Journal for 21 days straight
6. Do yoga for 21 days in a row
7. Bake a seven layer rainbow cake
8. Learn how to hem a dress
9. Witness life coming into this world
10. Go to a concert
11. Buy a 50s prom dress
12. Do 10 DIY projects
13. Cook 10 meals from scratch
14. Start a tiny garden
15. Finish watching Mad Men
16. Push the envelope with my style
17. Make a gift for someone with my own two hands
18. Read 10 new books
19. Make a new friend
20. Go to a play
21. Find an apartment

Have you ever made a list for your birthday?

Shop update

I'm so happy to have started the adventure of having an online shop. This is something I've wanted to do for a very long time. Now that I've posted some things I've come to realize how much work it really is but I'm totally up for the challenge!
Because I'm new at this I would really appreciate any feedback you have! Are things too expensive? Do you have any suggestions for photos or are there things you would like included in the descriptions! I would love any constructive criticism you have.
I hope your summer has been bright and full of love.

Hitting the road!

Summer is here to stay and I am looking forward to so many things! First on the agenda is a little jaunt to Missouri me and Jordan are taking to visit his family and hopefully score some awesome vintage frocks. Do any of you have any places in mind for me to stop at in the Versailles area?
One big problem I can see myself having is the packing I have to do! I fear I may go overboard with dresses and shoes. Any tips? What's the weather like down in MO?
I've never been on a road trip before so I am both excited and dreading the hours of driving. At the same time I am excited to spend so much time with Jordan and really just to take some time to do nothing at all.
Overall I hope it will be an awesome trip and I hope I'll find a bunch of goodies to bring back for the shop!

Last week of classes

Finals week this year was definately rough but I'm glad to say as of this morning my grades are posted and I did fantastic! Now I get to celebrate by being lazy all summer long!

One exciting thing that did come out of finals week was the fact that I learned how to knit! Take that new years resolution list!

Another fun thing was getting dressed up for an end of the year banquet!

And now I'm free to shop and blog and do fun stuff ;)
