60s Dresses & Sea-foam Jeans

Classes have started up again, but don't think I've forgotten about my last post! Oh no, I've been shopping my little heart out to get this shop started during the summer. Here's a couple more things I found just for you...

First up I got a pretty little dress that I could totally see Katie over at Skunkboy Creatures wearing, then a little plaid 60's wiggle dress and a awesome floral patterned 60s dress with ruffles, a peter pan collar and buttons all down the back.

Last but certainly not least I have the most awesome pants EVER!

Part of me want's to keep them but my waistline disagree's with that thought....

XOXO

Calling all Tailors!

I am not a seamstress. Once upon a time I knew how to sew a simple stitch but unfortunately that wildly useful skill has been lost. Because of that the worst thing I could find is a dress that needs alterations. Don't get me wrong I will never be upset with finding a beautiful vintage gown but the moment I realize it has a hem that has fallen out or in this case, a neckline that is far too high it dampens the mood a little. This dress has been hanging on my closet door for over a week now and I would love desperately to wear it but I'm not sure what to do with this neckline.
I was wondering if any of you have any idea's?
There's about 4 inches of fabric that comes around the top of the neckline and underneath the dress, almost like a reverse bib. So I have a lot of fabric to work with. But I'm worried about losing the vintage feel of the dress and making it too "modern"
Any idea's?

Little things

Who ever knew becoming a nurse could be so stressful? I say that with complete honesty. I never knew what I was getting myself into when applying for the RN program I'm in, and I can honestly say 98% of the time I feel like I am completely over my head...
But enough about nursing. I want to put a little more into this blog. My poor dear neglected blog that has collected hypothetical internet dust for too long!

I wanted to tell you about a project that's been in the works for a while now. You've seen me mention a billion times on here about how I want to start a shop but it's never come to fruition. Well now that I'm facing a summer vacation with no job and copious amounts of time I've realized that I have now, the perfect opportunity to finally get started.

I've began to collect things with every shopping trip. Little vintage treasures that I was sure would make any one of you smile. I feel a new sense of joy every time I pick out a beautiful dress or pyrex bowl with a reader in mind...

It's funny, I was beginning to become bored with blogging. Don't get me wrong, I love this little community that is based around our mutual love of... something or another. But for me I found myself with little to say. But now that I'm beginning to put together the pieces for this store I find myself getting more excited to share these little things with you.

So here they are...

I was hoping for some feedback on the thing's I've picked out because I still have a long way's to go before I have a fully stocked store and I really want to fill it with lovely things for you, because this IS for you!

Have a lovely weekend,
Sarah
