2011 New Years Resolutions

Here it is! I promised myself one year ago I would hold myself accountable to my new years resolutions on December 31st...

Get into the Nursing Program- I got in! I received my acceptance letter the day of my Birthday and I can't imagine a better gift!

 (This was for a pregnancy project. It's just padding!!)

Purchase (and wear) 11 Vintage Dresses- I went crazy. Absolutely freaking nuts. I bought over 30 dresses this year & completely OBLITERATED the "box" I had been in for so many years. It's been so amazingly fun to be myself and to be known as the "stylish one." People have even been asking me to bring them shopping =) I'll have a post later with more details.

Post What I Wore Photos- I posted a couple! Although not as many as I had hoped. This one was harder for me. Because although it was easy to put myself "out there" in the real world some days I didn't have the confidence to open myself to the scrutiny of the "internet world"

Purge my Closet- Haha, well you win some, you lose some. And as you saw above I purchased a ton of dresses and completely failed on this one.

Instagram - Holiday's 2011

I've been behind on posts because, well to be honest, it's been fun to not do anything this break. Here's a look at my Holiday's.

I tried something new with my hair this last week or so. It's been fun, but I love my crazy curls so this phase may be over.

This year I became a master wrapper. It was fun ;) I also got my very own Charlie Brown Christmas tree!

My cousin got me a mug and Salt & Pepper shakers from my Etsy, and I'm thrilled ;) Also my uncle brought me some records from his collection for Christmas, so I set up in the living room on Christmas day & brought some nostalgia to the house. It was fun to sing 60's classics with my grandparents.

Jordan got an iPod for Christmas and it was so fun watching him open it <3

One of the most unique gifts I got this year was from Jordan. This stuffed uterus pillow is something every future midwife needs in their lives!!

And just to top off how amazing my Christmas was... This is a $1 scratch off Jordan's cousin stuck in my Christmas card. I won $500. When does that ever happen??

Inspiration from: Glorious 39

Sometimes when I'm watching a movie I come for the story and stay for the wardrobe. Glorious 39 is a movie based around a very influential family and the wardrobe portrayed that with glamorous dresses, perfect chiffon blouses and stylish high waisted trousers. It took place on the brink of world war II and although the movie is slow moving the imagery more than makes up (in my opinion).

Silk, velvet, lace and embellishment are the things I looked for when searching for clothes to go with this movie.

Instagram - Finals Week

My last week of class was a hard one and as you'll soon see I did a lot of stress shopping. I consider it time well spent ;)

There is seriously nothing better than a great floral couch. This bad boy was only $9 and I would have made him mine if I had a place to put him! And seriously, how sweet is this toy fridge? I just love it!

I spent some time going through my thing's and trying to decide what I should sell in the shop. Unfortunately, I seem to love everything I own! This dress was one of the contenders and I ended up wearing it all day and falling in love with the bubble skirt all over again.

How cute is this panda dress my friend found!? We seriously considered buying it to turn it into an apron but  decided to let it go.

I finally got to go home this Friday after I closed down the dorm and I was so happy to see my family! I took this picture of my little sister as she was singing Christmas carols and every time I see it it warms my heart <3

Updates with Instagram

I absolutely love Instagram so I thought it would be fun to catch you guys up with what I've been up to this semester in Instagram photo's! If you'd like to follow me my username is dottidee

I discovered sweet leaf tea on my way to a wedding one amazing weekend and saw my little sister discover the joy of towels fresh out of the dryer.

Me and Jordan celebrated our 4th year together on September 28th <3

This semester I stopped caring about how others thought of my clothing... & I had fun with getting dressed each day!

I spent Thanksgiving with the most amazing people in the most beautiful house.

And now that this semester is coming to a close I can't wait for winter break to come and for a new chapter to begin...

I plan on doing weekly Instagram posts so there won't be as many photos next time!
